Green Media Program is a two-part knowledge exchange and community participation project bringing together community environmental defenders, young people and farmers. The program hosts an annual visual media fellowship lasting 6 months for young environmental defenders.

Initiated in 2025, the program seeks to promote visual media accessibility amongst remote grassroots initiatives working in the environmental sector. Media’s role to assert local indigenous narratives on agrobiodiversity forms a central argument in the programthrough the media fellowship and a possible extention of a maker media hub.

The media fellowship centers on the use of film and photography as locally applicable mediums for knowledge generation, evidentiary documentation and advocacy. The fellowship invites over 10 national and community level partners, as knowledge exchange sites for fellows to participate with.

Fellowship stages include-

Stage1: Foundation training in film and photography
Stage 2: Partner site knowledge exchange and production mentoring Stage3: Advanced technical workshops and festival of films produced
