Lempha Bohama
Location: Arunachal, India
Lempha Bohama is from the Wancho tribe of Longding district in Arunachal Pradesh. A passionate filmmaker and photographer since a young age. He loves photography and wildlife, a passion he keenly observes with a daily walk through neraby forests documenting nature. During his time at the fellowship Lempha documented a large number of birds and animals in the vicinity of the Docskool campus, it has led to a bird calendar being produced since. Lempha’s project at the fellowship was on the ‘Lesser Adjutant Stork’ bird now seen in lesser numbers in Udayapur. He has since continued working with local media groups as a filmmaker, photographer in Arunachal and other areas.

Abhimanyu Mani Dixit
Abhimanyu is a filmmaker, film academic, occasional critic and a film producer. He works with his media company Gauthali Entertainment that specialises in contemporary urban themed fiction made in low budget. As a producer he has participated at the Locarno Film festival’s Open Doors program, Rotterdam Lab of IFFR Rotterdam has presented at the Film Bazaar in India. His latest feature produced by him is a dutch-nepali coproduction which was a recipient of the prestigious HBF grants, it is releaisng at cinemas in May across Nepal.
Pushpa Joshi
Since 2015 Pushpa Joshi works on topics of sexuality, gender justice, reproductive rights and safe legal abortion rights with young people. She was briefly introduced to film at a workshop in Docskool following which she has produced several documentaries on topics of her interest. She currently leads YOSHAN, a youth collective based in Bhaktapur and works on independent documentary projects.
Anita Gautam
Anita grew up in a family of agriculturists and development workers, spending large part of her childhood at demonstration farms and community meetings. She majored in climate justice and sustainable agriculture prior to working as a agriculture scientist with focus on native crop protection and seed conservation. Her interest has been in draught resistant crops, and on disproportionate impact in gender and climate change. She is currently undertaking a Phd at the Asian Institute of technology syudying indigenous food systems further.
Shail Shrestha
Shail Shrestha graduated from the Media studies program at Kathmandu University, though he found firmer calling to engage in ecological justice movement. He recognises himself as an urban environment rights campaigner, where he has led Car free weekends at several historic sites in Kathmandu and has led the cycle city network Nepal. He works with filmmakers, artists often connecting them to comprehend challenges of ecological injustices through workshops, and collaborative projects. Shail is on the board of Directors of Docskool since 2024.
Kshitiz Adhiraj
Kshitiz Adhiraj is a film culture worker, creative rights campaigner and the founder director of Docskool. He works through Docskool with filmmakers and community media workers often bridging advocacy elements of social movements in his work. As a documentary filmmaker and photographer he worked on independent projects between 2003 - 2012. He has helped design film festivals, project labs for documentary and fiction and worked as a producer to several films from across South Asia.
Sashul Shrestha
Sashul Shrestha graduated with a degree in environment science and fine arts - eventually landing a job as an animator. He has led the technical programs at Docskool since 2013 where he designs programs, trains and oversees several fellowship productions.
Bishal Rajbhandari
Bishal Rajbhandari is a cinematographer, filmmaker based in Kathmandu. He works closely with the Indigenous movement as a media maker and indigenous rights advocate.
Salil Subedi
Salil Subedi is a nature-based performer, musician and creative educator. As a member of Canopy Collective, he blends art and environmental storytelling with communities.
Pitambar Shrestha
Pitambar Shrestha is an agriculturist researcher, with deep passion for indigenous, native farming practices. His efforts as an advocate has supported formation of over 50 community seed banks across Nepal. He works with the Community Seed Bank Nepal, an association of seed banks from across Nepal.
Mahesh Shrestha
Mahesh Shrestha as a background in theatre, fine arts, community media practising for 15+ years. He has worked with agro-ecology initiatives as a media creator for several years documenting large number of crop varieties, and farm practices across Nepal. He is in the board of directors of Docskool since 2023.
Jyotsna Maskay
Jyotsna Maskay is a feminist companion, women’s rights defender. She works with community level women collectives supporting formation of locally applicable strategies and is part of the nationwide movement of women human right defenders. Her eight dogs are her inspiration to work with the environment.
