Join Docskool for a creative exchange program held at our farm campus in Dhulikhel. Docskool’s residencies bring together multidisciplinary artists encouraging independent appreciation of documentary and visual media. Residencies can be between 15 days to a month long.

Our Residencies operate from a farm campus in Dhulikhel, it is located inside a semi- rural village 45 kms away from Kathmandu. The campus is a self-managed property with minimal features provided to encourage artists spend more time in the surrounding nature. Nested on top of a private hill, the campus oversees the vast Panchkhal valleyto the North stretching to the Himalayan range seen in full glory when days are right.
We encourage participants to incorporate elements of the neighboring forest, the village and nearby historic towns of Dhulikhel, Panauti, Banepa into their work. The facility only accommodates upto 10 participants.
The Documentary lab is a multidisciplinary process driven program held for 30 days.It is open to all nationalities with priority given to artists from Asia. Held first as a project lab in 2018, it has since been reorganized as a creative exchange where artists work individually and as groups to reimagine documentary as a concept not limited to film.
This is a self-motivated residency, participants are encouraged to work on at least one individual work. It is also possible for participants to decide on a group project they deem appropriate. Completed art works are shown at the Airavat Picture house in Kathmandu at the end of the Residency.
The Summer Residency enables artists to spend upto a month staying at the farm campus as they work on artworks of their choice. Located in a significant village undergoing rapid urban transformation neighboring a large forest and in proximity to several cultural engagement points, most artists will find the environment helpful to rediscover their work.
The space is suited for all DIY artists, makers, visual media makers. Artists have access to editing setups, film projection, a photography studio, sound recording gears among other things. Artists have no obligation towards project completion. Screenings and interactions can be hosted at end of the project if deemed appropriate.
