Skills at Docskool

Docskool provides limited skill opportunities to young film enthusiasts and media producers. Hosted in the layout of workshops, all trainings are process driven with participants expected to work on series of independently assessed projects during the course. All our trainings focus on documentary cinema.

Trainings are hosted by the Airavat Picture house in Kathmandu, residential sessions are hosted from the Dhulikhel campus.

’Documentary School’ is a part time – six month program on Documentary cinema.The course is best suited for working professionals and college level students. As a full program on documentary film, participants should expect to cover all aspects of documentary filmmaking from conceptualization to technical execution.

Sessions are held on cinematography, editing, story development among others. A 15- minute documentary film is part of graduating project to be submitted. Participants receive a certificate upon completion.

Held for 15 days, this workshop is a beginner level film exposure program aimed at helping young students get closer to cinema. The course will follow participants work onashortprojectoftheirinterestasitprovidesapplicableskillsalongtheway.Itstarts with a project pitch and ends with a one-day festival to showcase materials produced.
