Project Name:Chure (Echoes of the hills and people)
Location: Mai Municipality, Ilam
Synopsis:
The Chure/ Shiwalik hill range a transboundary natural phenomena transverses across Nepal’s East to West as Nepal’s youngest mountain range. Chure also witnesses catastrophic change to its terrains and ecology, with rampant urbanisation and drastic shifts in human forest relation. The film explores the once dense forest cover on the Chure range in Jhapa and Ilam of Eastern Nepal.
