Airavat Picture House presents two unique films from Dang this May. Join us for first time screenings of The Ritual and Ihiri , both made by director Bishal Roka Magar with his team from Black Sulpa Films.
The Ritual (54 mins’)
Synopsis:
A man taken over by urban life makes his own choices ignoring his families ancestral rituals and bonds with nature. At home, a frail mother’s chances of life become slimmer as his actions break his connection with the spiritual sphere. It is then, he is forced to face the consequences of his actions.
Ihiri (62 mins’)
Synopsis :
At a remote Magar Khaam village in Rolpa, a young hunter (Milunge) takes on a risky challenge to prove himself against a rival. With a dead body found next to his gun all fingers point at the young man for having slain a local herder. The following turmoil sets off a chain of violence, betrayal, and regret that will shake the village to its core.
Showtime:
Both films will be shown everyday between 15 - 22 May. Shows start at 4:30 pm. Tickets for the shows can be purchased as one or separately. Bundled ticket are offered at a discounted rate.

Meet the director for after show discussions held every day. An official launch party will be held on 15 May with director talk and presentation of his other works also produced in Dang.
