3) Community Media Production Higher Diploma
Introduction
This unique vocational diploma in Community Media is Nepal’s only program dedicated to the learning of video broadcasting, documentary cinema and Radio.
The Higher Diploma prepares graduates to enter the highly rewarding arenas of Documentary filmmaking, TV broadcasting and Radio (Sound) production. Graduates will become significant contributors to the technical transition of 350+ community Radio’s in Nepal as they transition into online stations with video and audio simulcasting. Those opting to specialise in the Documentary program can become producers of the second fastest growing sector in online platforms.
This program shares similar core subject areas as the Creative Media Higher Diploma. Specialisation in one of the three areas is provided in the second trimester.
The third and fourth trimester are dedicated to internship and personal project development, execution.
Participants learn:
To design, execute and present film, audio projects of upto 15 min.
Subjective analysis, reality storytelling, news presentation.
Advanced skill base in video/ sound editing, writing, cinematography, studio lighting

Who is it for
The higher diploma is for 18+ Creative Media Diploma graduate or individuals with professional work experience looking to explore Community media as a career after high school or for further studies at university. It serves as a pathway program as pre university for students heading to University.
What students produce
Students will produce variety of individual and group work on film, documentaries, photography, television production, community radio, community theater, writing and graphic communication. Projects serve as assessment of student performance
