Creative Media Skills Certificate and Diploma

Introduction:

The Creative Media Skills Diploma is a one-year  Pre-University vocational qualification offered as one half of the two year Higher Diploma in Creative Media. The diploma is provided at two stages of either a 6 month certificate or as a 12 month Diploma.

 

The qualification provides students with exposure to variety of visual media application which can be used for immediate benefit or be pursued further at the Higher Diploma or at University later. The program’s orientation is to establish a firm understanding of visual media landscape preparing graduates to pursue careers they deem appropriate. Participants will undergo the program with equal emphasis on all core subject areas which include conventional lens based media (video, photography), graphic communication (print based, web), animation and community media (radio).

 

The Diploma will conclude with a group video, animation or radio project. The Certificate will conclude with class assignments and short individual projects.

Who is it for  

The certificate/ diploma is for 18+ young learners who are looking to explore visual media as a career after high school or for further studies at university. It serves as a pathway program for junior technicians who can complete professional qualification with the Higher Diploma, or as pre university for students heading to University.



What students produce   
Students will produce variety of individual and group work on film, photography, animation and graphic communication. Projects serve as assessment of student performance.
